McShane Begins Construction on Soltra at SanTan Village

McShane Construction Company is pleased to announce that they have been selected by Leon Capital Group to construct Soltra at SanTan Village, a new luxury multi-family development in Gilbert, Arizona.

“The population of Gilbert has grown by more than 10,000 in the past two years,” shared Jim Kurtzman, Senior Vice President of McShane. “The town is now home to over 265,000 people and is expected to expand to over 300,000 by 2030. With growth this significant comes a great need for new housing, so Soltra will be a valuable addition to the town.”

McShane partnered with Leon Capital Group early on in the project before the schematic design process began. This enabled Leon to elect a design-assist approach for the project where they engaged McShane and architect, Todd & Associates, concurrently. This approach helped to keep project costs aligned as the design process evolved.

Due to their early involvement, McShane was also able to implement their extensive pre-construction services. This included evaluating the most efficient MEP systems and determining cost-effective solutions for the building envelope.

The three- and four-story, 380-unit complex will incorporate wood frame construction with an attractive stucco and stone exterior. Units will be available in one-, two- and three-bedroom configurations and will feature a mix of luxury vinyl tile and carpet, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Interior amenities will include a clubhouse, fitness center and leasing office. The property will also offer an outdoor pool, spa and cabana, a dog park, and garages and carports for residents to enjoy.

The project is located on a 14.24-acre lot on the southwest corner of Ray Road and Santan Village Parkway in the southeast Phoenix suburb. The residences will offer tenants easy access to numerous schools, parks, restaurants, retail stores and other businesses in the area. The site is also conveniently located less than 15 minutes from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and 35 minutes from Downtown Phoenix.

McShane is also completing all sitework for Soltra, including underground site utilities and underground storm retention.

Completion of Soltra at SanTan Village is slated for September 2021.

McShane Announces 18th Multi-Family Project with Continental

McShane Construction Company has been selected to complete Springs at Red Mountain, their 18th multi-family assignment for Continental Properties. The 192-unit, luxury apartment community will be located on North Power Road in Mesa, Arizona. This project builds on the multi-family momentum McShane is seeing throughout the area as Phoenix and its surrounding communities continue to experience rapid growth. This is the second multi-family project in the Phoenix area that McShane has secured in the past six weeks.

“Springs at Red Mountain marks our first project for Continental in Arizona, making it the tenth state in which McShane has constructed Springs Apartments,” noted Jim Kurtzman, Senior Vice President of McShane Construction Company’s Southwest Region. “We are very proud of the partnership we have formed with Continental Properties and look forward to continuing to work with them for years to come.”

Positioned on 10.5 acres of land, the units will be broken up into 15 two- and three-story, garden-style apartment buildings with studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom configurations. The buildings will feature wood frame construction with an attractive stucco and stone exterior. Many units will boast of upgraded features, including vinyl plank flooring, granite countertops and wine coolers.

Residents will be able to enjoy access to an on-site clubhouse that incorporates a fitness gym and swimming pool. The property will also feature an outdoor Ramada with a fire pit, a barbecue area and a car wash. Additionally, the pet-friendly residence will integrate an outdoor dog park for tenants and their pets to use. On-site parking will consist of both surface and garage spaces.

Known for its excellent amenities and enjoyable weather, Mesa is a great city for people of all ages. Springs at Red Mountain is strategically situated to offer close proximity to a number of restaurants, stores, banks, pharmacies and other businesses. Located on the southwest edge of the Tonto National Forest, it also offers easy access to hiking trails and campgrounds. Supportive Housing Residence Delivered in Cook County

McShane Construction Company is pleased to announce the completion of Heart’s Place Apartments, a supportive housing complex in Arlington Heights, Illinois, completed on behalf of the Housing Opportunity Development Corporation and repeat client, UP Development. A ribbon cutting was held yesterday at the project site to celebrate the grand opening of the new facility.

“Individuals with disabilities are often overlooked when it comes to the housing market,” stated Jeffrey A. Raday, President of McShane Construction Company. “However, a necessary part of supporting this group is providing for their housing needs. We are proud that Heart’s Place Apartments will achieve that goal.”

Heart’s Place Apartments will act as permanent housing for families, targeting people who live with a mental illness or other disability that requires access to support services. It is located in a well-established area along Dundee Road that offers convenient access to stores, banks, recreational areas, healthcare facilities and public schools. This will provide tenants with the opportunity to find employment in a variety of industries close to home. Additionally, tenants will have access to a suburban Pace bus route with a stop just a block from the complex.

The 18,790-square-foot complex is located at 120 W. Boeger Drive on a site that was vacant for more than a decade prior to its construction. Heart’s Place incorporates 18 one- and two-bedroom units into two stories with wood frame construction.

Additionally, there is an on-site laundry room, a community room and support staff offices. The grounds of the property feature ample parking and attractive landscaping for tenants to enjoy.

McShane Completes Home Chef West Coast Facility

McShane Construction Company is pleased to announce the completion of the new Home Chef West Coast production facility in San Bernardino, California.

“We are pleased to support Home Chef’s growth plan with the renovation of their new state-of-the-art distribution center, adding a new food and beverage product to our portfolio,” said Charlie Stone, Vice President and Regional Manager of McShane Construction Company.

The 204,683-square-foot project includes 107,134 square feet of warehouse space, 79,642 square feet of food preparation space and 17,907 square feet of office space to support Home Chef’s growing distribution operations. The concrete tiltwall facility features storefront elements, a 32′ clear height, an ESFR sprinkler system, 30 truck docks and one drive-in door.

Amenities include a vestibule, conference rooms, a locker room, bathrooms, a frock room and a break room. McShane also provided site improvements, including a revised parking lot layout with 208 parking spaces.
