On July 19, 1984, Jim McShane establishes McShane Construction, a design/build construction firm headquartered in suburban Chicago, Illinois.
1985
McShane Construction is awarded its first project – a large build-to-suit food processing plant for Mullins Food Products in Broadview, Illinois. Today we still build Food & Beverage projects.
1992
In July 1992, McShane Construction relocates its headquarters office to Rosemont, Illinois, a centrally-located and popular locale for Chicago’s growing real estate brokerage community and affiliated firms.
1994
McShane Construction Company celebrates its 10th anniversary.
1995
After a comprehensive search and evaluation process, Jim McShane acquires the assets of The Cadence Group, with offices in Dallas, Austin and Houston, establishing Cadence McShane Construction.
2000
Jim McShane begins the new millennium by establishing a Southwest Regional Office in Phoenix, Arizona with the firm’s initial construction of the multi-building, four-story, Class A, East Gateway Centre office complex.
2000
McShane Construction is awarded its first multi-family assignment in Chicago, Illinois, a for-sale condominium development located at 816 West Erie. Through the years, McShane’s multi-family portfolio has grown substantially, establishing the firm as one of the nation’s largest providers of multi-family construction services.
2002
McShane Construction relocates its growing corporate headquarters into Pointe O’Hare, a 263,000-square-foot Class A office complex that the firm constructed in Rosemont, Illinois.
2004
McShane Construction Company celebrates its 20th anniversary.
2004
The firm pushes further west establishing a Western Regional Office in Southern California to provide design/build construction services within this booming industrial region with its initial construction assignment in San Bernardino, a growing market within the expanding Inland Empire.
2005
Looking to expand into the growing southeastern market, McShane Construction establishes a regional office in Auburn, Alabama, aptly positioned to provide comprehensive construction services within the highly-populated and growing Sun Belt region.
2014
McShane Construction Company celebrates its 30th anniversary.
2016
Experiencing rapid growth, The McShane Companies relocates its corporate headquarters to Gateway O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois to facilitate future expansion.
2018
To better serve its growing client base within the state of Wisconsin, McShane Construction expands its operations with the establishment of a regional office in Madison, Wisconsin.
2020
Molly McShane is appointed Chief Executive Officer of The McShane Companies. Since joining the company in 2002, Molly has spearheaded major strategic initiatives across McShane’s portfolio of services, most notably its expansion into new geographic markets and a conscious effort to create a diverse workplace.
