Valparaiso Arts & Sciences Building
McShane Construction Company completed the design/build construction of a 51,500-square-foot classroom and office addition to the Christopher Center Library at Valparaiso University.
The addition features a masonry, aluminum, precast and glass exterior that incorporates aluminum cladding, generous windowlines and additional aesthetic elements.
The interior offers lobby space, offices, a teacher’s lounge and flexible office and classroom areas for the Arts and Sciences Department. Interior finishes include acoustical tile, exposed concrete floors and exposed steel elements.
The LEED-Silver assignment incorporates numerous sustainable elements including an energy-efficient HVAC system, recycled and low-VOC materials and certified wood products, among others.
