McShane Construction Company provided the general construction services for the 88,109-square-foot U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs St. Joseph County VA Clinic in Mishawaka, Indiana.
The single-story medical facility was constructed on a 12.8-acre site and feature a masonry veneer of brick and Indiana Limestone exterior with aluminum storefront and curtainwall systems and clerestory windows.
The interior of the clinic is organized around three clerestory atrium spaces and feature audiology, endoscopy, home based primary care, mental health, pharmacy, podiatry and prosthetics departments, among others. Sitework provided included 520 parking spaces, an elegant water feature, sidewalks and nearly two acres of park space with a natural cold water system to serve as a buffer to the facility and offer a place for natural views and wildlife habitat.
