McShane Construction Company recently completed Parkview Apartments in downtown Arlington Heights, Illinois for client UP Development. The seven-story building is situated at the southwest corner of Dunton Avenue and Eastman Street in close proximity to the Arlington Heights Metra Station. Downtown Arlington Heights also has a number of nearby restaurants, cafes, stores and parks that its residents can enjoy.
Parkview Apartments feature 45 residential units, ground-floor retail space, integrated parking and various sustainable features meeting NGBS Green Certification. Residences are located on the upper five floors while the second floor and a portion of the first floor consist of secured parking for 58 vehicles. The remaining 1,314 square feet on the first floor serve as retail space.
The property offers 15 one-, 25 two- and five three-bedroom units designed for individuals and families of all income ranges. Each unit features an open floorplan, quality finishes, in-unit washers and dryers and private outdoor balconies. Tenants are also able to enjoy a community room and an outfitted fitness center.
The exterior of the building was designed to complement the surrounding area with design features that are indicative of classic Chicago architecture. This was achieved by the use of an elegant granite base, masonry and cast stone detailing.
“We’re very excited to finally see the finished product of Parkview Apartments,” remarked Jeffrey A. Raday, PE, President of McShane Construction. “We think the combination of more affordable units and retail space is a great addition to downtown Arlington Heights and we’re pleased to have done our part in contributing to the community.”
Architectural services for Parkview Apartments were completed by Tinaglia Architects.
