Scott J. Hoppa, Senior Vice President of McShane Construction Company’s Southeast Region, is pleased to announce the award of the new 79-unit Mercy Housing at Mercy Park construction assignment on behalf of Mercy Housing, one of the largest nonprofit affordable housing organizations in the country. The project is underway on a 1.6-acre site at 5135 Peachtree Road in Chamblee, Georgia, in close proximity to Mercy Care North medical clinic.
Upon completion at the end of January 2018, the facility will provide quality affordable housing and programing for seniors. The property will feature 57 one- and 22 two-bedroom units and nearly 4,000 square feet of amenity space. Amenities will include resident services areas, property management, a fitness center, computer center, gathering rooms and several outdoor seating areas including a rooftop terrace.
The residence is being constructed to achieve LEED for Homes Certification incorporating numerous environmentally-friendly features. The exterior will boast a contemporary design utilizing masonry, fiber cement siding and modern window lines.
McShane will provide all sitework for the assignment including pavement of the 56-car surface parking lot, landscape and hardscape.
“We are honored to be serving Mercy Housing in implementing its vision of bringing comfortable, safe and quality living options to seniors in need within the community of Chamblee,” remarked Hoppa. “With our experience in multi-family and senior housing construction, we are certain that the goals of our client will be met and that its residents will have a home to take pride in for many years to come.”
