McShane Construction Company has begun construction on 900 Gayley Avenue, Westwood’s newest office and retail property. The mixed-use development will feature 33,317 square feet of office space and 5,182 square feet of retail space. Pacific Property Partners is the developer managing the project on behalf of 900 Gayley Avenue Associates LLC.
“We’re looking forward to providing Westwood with modern office and retail space,” remarked Charlie Stone. “We’re ready to tackle the challenges that come with building a ground-up development in an urban setting and look forward to seeing the final result.”
Located next to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in the heart of Westwood, the development is designed to match elements of the surrounding historical Westwood architecture. The steel frame and cast-in-place concrete structure will consist of four stories of office and retail space constructed over a three-story, underground parking structure with a brick, glass and metal panel exterior.
The building will incorporate rooftop bio filtration planters, high ceilings, efficient lighting, state-of-the-art HVAC and sound insulation, making it a desirable, energy-efficient property for businesses. Tenants will also have access to an electric vehicle charging station and 88 parking spaces within the three-story parking garage.
McShane is also performing site work for the project, including the demolition of an existing two-story building.
Completion of 900 Gayley Avenue is slated for May 2021. The architect of record is Architects Orange.
