McShane Construction Company has been selected by valued repeat client The Finger Companies to build Algonquin at Plum Grove Apartments in Schaumburg, Illinois. The new high-end multi-family development will incorporate 373 units and numerous amenities. Last year, McShane completed The Elaine, a 304-unit luxury apartment residence in Northbrook, Illinois, on behalf of The Finger Companies.

Each unit will integrate luxury features such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a wine refrigerator, large bedrooms with walk-in closets and an in-unit washer/dryer.
The property will offer generous amenities, including two clubrooms, a fitness center, golf simulator, catering kitchen, business center and dog spa. Outside, tenants will enjoy both lap and recreational pools, fire pits, grill stations, a dog walk and a dog run.
The 708,000-square-foot development is positioned on a 10.6-acre site and will feature four stories of wood frame construction wrapped around a five-story, 802-space precast parking garage with one sub-grade level. Designed to reflect the surrounding area, the building’s façade will incorporate three stories of brick veneer with Hardie paneling on the fourth floor.
McShane is providing design-build MEPFP services for the project. The firm partnered with the architect during the design of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems to maximize construction efficiency.
Before beginning construction on the development, McShane demolished an abandoned three-building office park on the site.
Completion of Algonquin at Plum Grove Apartments is slated for August 2023. The architect of record is Niles Bolton Associates.
