Construction has begun on Stonepointe, a 238-unit, affordable, 55+ senior living residence in Stonecrest, Georgia for repeat client, Dominium.
“There’s a nationwide shortage of affordable housing that extends into the senior living market,” remarked Scott Hoppa, Senior Vice President of McShane’s Southeast region. “Stonepointe will help Stonecrest-area seniors who are faced with the difficulty of finding affordable housing, and we’re proud of the role that McShane has in that.”
McShane was brought on by Dominium during the permitting stage of pre-construction. The team went through final design meetings and pricing with the client, which allowed McShane to provide feedback on any inconsistencies and ultimately avoid increased costs and time delays.
Positioned on 11.29 acres of land at 6757 Covington Highway, the four-story, wood frame building features a brick and cement-siding exterior. Units will be offered in one- to three-bedroom configurations with one-, 1.5- and two-bathroom options. Each unit will feature granite countertops and a mix of luxury vinyl tile flooring and carpet.
The facility also boasts of best-in-class amenities that will provide residents with convenient services and entertainment. These amenities include a hair salon, laundromat, library, theater room, fitness room and tenant storage.
McShane is also performing site work for Stonepointe, including the construction of a parking lot with 210 spaces.
Completion of Stonepointe is slated for July 2021. The architect of record is Martin Riley Associates.
