McShane Construction Company is pleased to announce that construction is completed at The Flats at Bishop’s Woods on behalf of repeat client Lincoln Avenue Communities. Located in Brookfield, Wisconsin, The Flats at Bishop’s Woods is the city’s first fully affordable apartment community, offering 203 units.

Located on a 3.7-acre site at 350 Bishops Way, the residence contains four stories of wood-frame construction atop an underground two-story precast parking garage. The building’s façade integrates Hardie lap and panel siding with brick veneer.
Affordable at 50 to 70 percent of area median income (AMI) income, units are offered in one- to three-bedroom floorplans. Each apartment features granite countertops, luxury vinyl plank flooring, stainless steel appliances, and kitchen islands. Select units offer private balconies or patios. There are also eight live/work units with separate exterior entrances for residents who wish to have an in-home office or studio.
Residents can enjoy an array of amenities including a community room with a kitchen, a fitness center with free weights and equipment, Zoom and conference rooms, a library, mail and package rooms, an outdoor grilling patio with seating, and a playground.
The Flats at Bishop’s Woods achieved Wisconsin Green Built Home Certification and incorporates sustainable features such as rooftop solar panels, high-efficiency electric heat pump systems, and energy-efficient appliances.

This summer, McShane completed construction of The Canyons, a 60-unit affordable housing residence in Madison, Wisconsin, for Lincoln Avenue Communities. Currently, the firms are underway with the development of The Conway at Huxley Yards, a 50-unit affordable housing community in Madison.
