Construction has begun on The Parker, a 240-unit, market-rate apartment complex in Dawsonville, Georgia. McShane Construction Company was selected by Penler to construct the development, which marks only the third large multi-family development to come to Dawson County.
“With only two other developments of this size in Dawson County, we’re confident that The Parker will be a valuable addition to Dawsonville,” commented Scott Hoppa, Senior Vice President of McShane’s Southeast Region. “Our team has extensive experience building garden style apartments, so we expect the construction process to move along smoothly.”
McShane had a comprehensive role in the pre-construction efforts for The Parker. This included multiple rounds of pricing updates, design meetings, design progress plan reviews and recommendations. By getting involved in a project during the pre-construction phase, McShane is able to expedite the start of construction and avoid time delays and unforeseen costs.
Positioned on a 40-acre lot, the gated community will be made up of 10 two-story, wood frame buildings. Each building will incorporate 24 units offered in one- to three-bedroom configurations with one to two bathrooms. Units will feature granite countertops and stainless steel appliances and will provide tenants with private entries.
Tenants will also have access to a number of on-site amenities including a clubhouse with a fitness room and kitchen, a leasing center, a resort-style swimming pool, a mail kiosk and four detached garage buildings.
Completion of The Parker is expected for June 2021. The architect of record is Dynamik Design.
