Aurora Arts Center was recognized by Chicagoland AGC as one of the 2019 Projects of the Year in the Renovation over $10 million category. The project involved transforming an 80,000-square-foot historic building into a 25,000-square-foot school for performing arts, 8,000 square feet of rehearsal space for the Paramount Theatre, a 4,000-square-foot restaurant, 38 apartments designed to support working artists and four guest apartments for Paramount Theatre performers. The space also includes flex and dance studios, rehearsal rooms, locker rooms, collaboration space for artists and a gallery for artists to host their exhibitions.
