Grove Apartments
McShane Construction Company completed the extensive construction and renovation of the 51,495-square-foot, LEED-Certified Grove Apartments on behalf of developer, Interfaith Housing Development Corporation.
The former two-story Comcast office building located in Oak Park, Illinois, was redeveloped into a contemporary mixed-income residence with the construction of two additional floors resulting in a four-story, 51-unit building with 5,233 square feet of retail space on the ground level. McShane also completed the build-out of The Sugar Beet Co-Op, a grocery store and anchor tenant of the development.
McShane also restored the building’s original Albert Kahn design requiring a complete brick and precast facade makeover to replace the existing stucco exterior. The repurposed property features sustainable elements including a geothermal HVAC system and energy-efficient windows and appliances.
