President Mat Dougherty was named to GlobeSt.‘s list of 2022 Multi-Family Influencers. Mat joined McShane in June 2000 as a project engineer, following his graduation from Marquette University. Over the past 22 years, he has proven himself as a strategic visionary and influencer both within McShane and throughout the industry. Mat is an expert in a variety of multi-family product types including market rate, affordable, supportive, student and senior housing.
Over the past three years, Mat oversaw the construction of 49 multi-family projects in seven states totaling 12,000 units. Under his leadership, McShane is recognized as the fifth largest multi-family builder in the nation by the National Multifamily Housing Council. Additionally, the firm was named the 2020 Multi-Family Builder of the Year by National Association of Home Builders.
