Valparaiso University’s College of Arts and Sciences received an Honorable Mention for Creative Detailing by the Metal Construction Association. Awards are based on overall appearance, significance of metal in the project, innovative use of metal and the role of metal in achieving project objectives. The College of Arts and Sciences features a digitally-fabricated screen above the building’s main entrance. The university’s motto “In Luce Tue Videmus Lucem” (In Thy Light, We See Light) was translated into 39 languages and incorporated into a lattice cut design out of aluminum plate.
